Not got the old girl running yet, got the Haynes bible today so heres hoping. If not then may come over in the toyota.

Will do DJ, Had another go at it today and gave the carb and linkages a good spray with carb & choke cleaner.
Got me a bit baffled as when I got the top off the carb it looks to me as if its got an almost new carb on inc all the tension springs. Unless the carb is not set up right, all I can think of is that the fuel line has some sh*t in it. Having said that, if I press the throttle from tickover it falters and sometimes backfires into the carb, but if its press it from a quarter down it bursts into life . So maybe it's the timing thats a bit out. (Scratches head)

sounds like the timing john or an air leak, have a look for fuel filters to ,in the line and the carb,

CRACKING NIGHT TONIGHT.. plenty a long distance travelers too from,newcastle/hull/manchester/sheffield/etc/etc. took about 50 pictures and some rare bits a stuff out tonight too,nice to see so many people out on a chilly night having fun, piccys later on once have seen how many come out as its still a bit dark,counted over 70 cars and they were still coming in at 7.30. nice to see tim n marce,johnboy n sue,frank,ian,pash,andy and j gas,et,and all the pt cruiser peeps, even steve were down from up teeside[got yer car buddy in the piccys but missed yer] catch yer next time fella or at fins n chrome.
