Pryed off the badges on the top of the front wings and found the holes are there for the original "Ranger" badges...any ideas if these are available in UK/States and if so how much? Ta

Must be available from UK Ford dealers and probably only a few quid. Else if your lucky maybe someone in the UK will find a pair in a scrapyard for you.

I wonder why they decided to call it Courier in Oz. To me a Ford Courier is a Ford Fiesta cube van.

I dunno mate...but it has always been the Courier here and well used by all the "tradies" in it's 2 wheel drive format (basically a Mazda rebadged) until the later ones arrived and I guess they wanted to keep the name!
The newest (2007 model) are sold as Ranger same as every where else? go figure?

Even now the Ranger (as in the non-US, export Ranger - the US one being subtley different) shares a lot with the Mazda B-Series truck. They're still built alongside each other in the same Thai factory.

The US-built Ford Ranger is built alongside the US version of the Mazda B-Series too.

Yea its a strange connection particularly when mine is built in South Africa and then shipped to Malaysia for final assembly!!!

The Mazda BT50 is being pushed hard here with TV and News ads using the logo BT to promote "Bloody Turkey" "Bloody Tough" and finally "Bloody Terrific"

Ford own Mazda, so I guess common bodies/production lines is a good idea.

I was always puzzled by the Ford Maverick / Nissan terrano connection though.

You're right there mate the two names started to get confused here in the early eighties but it seems to have been short lived thankfully! Can't imagine having a FORD that started life as a DATSUN can you????

I believe there was a Nissan-badged version of your Ford Falcon Ute for a short while that was sold as the Nissan 'The Ute' or something. Apparently not popular and most of those that are left have had their badges swapped for Ford ones! I think Ford in return had their own version of the Nissan Pintara (Stanza in the US) saloon.
