Hi Dave. Welcome to the forum. Yes, there are issues with the hatch pulldown. There 3 known issues. A gentleman called Lonsal deals with these parts exclusively and give you all the info you require. Go onto http://www.top-downsolutions.com/ and email him. You also need to go onto www.thirdgen.org and register there. What these people don't know about camaro/firebirds isn't worth knowing! Trust me. Good luck. Andy.

Hi Dave. Have a look at this. See if it helps. http://www.thirdgen.org/tech/hatchpulldown.pdf The unit takes power from the courtesy fuse (CTSY fuse in fuse block) to operate the release solenoid, and then power for pull down from a fusible link from the starter solenoid through the ignition switch and the gear selector switch. There should be a purple wire going into the hatch pull down unit. Make sure the shifter is in park or neutral, and operate the hatch switch. Check for 12V at the purple wire when you do this. Let me know what you get. Andy. PS Where are you in the country? Anywhere near me at J29 of M1?
