Hi all,

Ive had a problem with my drivers side caliper for quite a while now, ive never dabbled into brakes before but not long ago i had a look at it because my brake completely siezed on while i was out in the car, a few pumps of the pedal and a stab at the accelerator free'd it but its never done that before.  Its always pulled to the right a bit when braking but i never bothered with it

Turns out the piston wasnt releasing properly, it was stuck and took ages to pop back out, you can actually hear it groaning as its releasing slowly, there was a load of dirt n crap under the seal so got most of that out and put a load of WD40 in there and it felt pretty good for a couple of days then it went back to normal, the most noticable thing is that it pulls over to the right when braking.

Is it time for a new set of calipers ? or have i got something else going on with the brakes.  any info appreciated, also if anyone has bought new calipers for their car how much were they ?

If there is crap under the seals its more than likely the calipers, it can be a collapsed flexi hose as it wont allow the fluid to return but sounds more like the caliper,`im out of good secondhand ones due to same faults but could find out a price for a new one if needed, I personally would do the hoses too while its off as the expense wouldnt be alot more and would save you time in the future.
