I like most of you guys on here run a leaded car. So I presently use the fuel Additive, but I know there is another product out there I believe a Inline fuel additive- filter that you fit to your exsisting fuel lines, and this does the same job. For the life of me I cannot remember the name or which companys supply this type of product.
Anybody on here know anything about this. Would be interested.
Thanks.
Richard.

Hopefully one of the guys with an older car has some pointers about this sort of thing. Is the 72 in your name the year of your car?  All 1975-up American cars use unleaded fuel, so I'm not much use on this one!!!

forget them inline cat lead doofers there naff,, all you need is the lucas addative and yer sorted, but you wont do any damage with normal fuel as its only when your towing or your cars got 5 fat blokes in for hours on end driving on motorway,,,

Just wondering if you ever considered having the Heads reworked with hardened Valve Seats. That would eliminate the problem of using unleaded fuel, and the costly additives. Yeah, it is more expensive up front, but over time it would pay for itself to get the hardened Valve Seats.

Speaking of old cars, can you give me insights how to maintain vehicles of such age????

Well if your asking me and mines 72 Charger its just a regular service-oil- filters -plugs I use 20-50 Classic engine oil with an additive to replace the zinc thats been taken away by our oil manufactuers. I do fuss over my motor so the service intervals can be regular, just check the dipstick, oil colour and feel the thickness of the oil, bearing content. Should tell you a lot. The rest is the usual checking of diff-gearbox-steering box that type of thing. All ways check your service manual for the correct oils, parts. If its a bit more involved depending where you live I use BHP in Watford. these guys have been working on yanks for years. Or theres Geoff Hauser Racing up in Northampton he will practically build or service anything. This guy knows his stuff.

If your asking yorkshire pud try asking him direct.
Good Luck.
Rich.

The in-line fuel additive was known I think as a fuel cat 4lumps of lead but you needed at least two for a V8.
The other idea being bandied around was to drop some lumps of lead in your fuel tank bit like what was used in the WW11 to boost the octain of the fuel. A mate of mine runs a similar system in his 63 Split window Vette and other motors he's got.
But it's a lot easier using the Lucas valve additive i've had no problems using the stuff

Cheers Chris for the advice...but since that post a while a go have treated myself to some 360 heads so I will also sort out the valve seal probs at the same time.
But will still use the Lucas stuff.
Rich.
