Just thought I'd show off my Mopar here, it's an oldie, that's been in our family since it was new.

By the way, the thing you see to the right of the Steeting Column, is the Factory authorized optional 45 rpm RCA Record Player.

Thanks, and the reason it's so clean, is I wipe everything down after the car has been out, or as I put, I diaper the 3,600 pound baby [:)]

That Record Player was one of my accidental finds. I went to a one time only Car Show up in northern New Jersey about 16 years ago, and while sitting by my Plymouth, was approached by an older gentleman, who first asked me if the car I had my back to, was mine. I replied yes, and then he showed me a photograph of the Record Player, the matching Radio (which acts as the pre-amp for the Player), and a matching Speaker. The gentleman then asked me if I knew what the item in the first photo was, and I replied yes. I then asked the fellow how much, his reply was $200.00 for the whole lot. Since I was one month away from getting married, I asked the man for his card, and told him I'd clear this intended purchase with my bride-to-be. When I mentioned the Player to my bride, her answer was: get it, get it, get it! I called the owner of the Record Player, made arrangements to pick it up, and upon my arrival at his home, the gentleman even bench tested the unit for me. I took my purchase home, and one week before my Wedding Day, spent the day installing the Player, with the Shop Manual for the car on the front seat as my guide as to what to hook up to what. The Player still works, and is one of THE scarcest optional accessories I've ever come across for my Plymouth.

Reminds me of the car from the Movie Christine, but if it's anything like my Plymouth, it only knows how to break itself, not fix itself [:D]. I'll also add, that was great looking 58. So DJ, why did you sell it?

Kerpal -> RE: My 1960 Plymouth Savoy (Sep. 26 2007 3:18:15)

Probably was a Fury. Do you have any photos of the car? I'd love to see them.
