Hey guys, please can anyone help ! I have had some trouble with my 64 cadillac (429cui) and its carburetor. I have just had the carburetor replaced with a rebuilt one I bought of ebay. Now the car seems to run pretty rough! For a start it just doesnt seem to have the same power as before. Also the engine seems to - err how do I put it - shake more! When I accellerate - you can tell the car is shaking as if its missing. I knew as soon as I got back in it it just wasnt the same! Please can anyone help - or put me in the right direction of somebody who can get it to run better! Preferably around the Northamptonshire or Rugby area? Please help!

Thanks.
Paul.

Carb rebuild kits for the Rochester and Carter carbs are very cheap. Might be worth taking the carb apart and checking it all. Also check the specs for the floats etc.
I rebuilt the carb on my 56 earlier this year and its like a different car now. Also you probably need to reset the timing etc now as it had all been set for the old carb.
