recently bought my first yank truck ('96 GMC) and it seems to have some sort of cut off when reaching 100mph, doesn't seem all that quick either but I just put that down to being so bleedin' heavy! It was a Jap import, brought in earlier this year, been lowered and custom painted and the engine bay looks (or looked should I say) spanking new. Just wondering if anyone knows of some sort of limit device that could have been fitted to stop speeds over 100 (it sounds like it cuts the engine until it gets back to 70mph) any advice would be great! cheers Malk

Im not sure what limits your ECU has. But on our old GMC Typhoon an Aftermarket performance Chip actualy raised the rev limit (and the fuel cut protection) and removed the top speed restrictor (which GMC set at 125mph) I think a range of performance chips are available from www.summitracing.com some are Plug in and off you go. others need you to send ECU's away Hope this helps a bit Cheers Fin

That's cool, cheers mate. Never even considered a chip, will consult the manual I bought for it and see what gives! cheers Malk
