hi need a bit of advice on a 318 engine and box that i've brought
it was removed from a dodge truck although i'm not sure if it's
the original ..
how can i tell the difference between the la and poly engines ??
any ideas on carb set up for perfomance , it has a performer inlet
manifold and headman headers at the moment

it seems i have a la engine
when i checked on an american mopar site ,my engine no
came up as a race engine ??
cast no on the side of the block  is - 410 4230 -318-15

easy way to tell.....poly engines a 90 degress, LA blocks aren't.

Seems you have a LA.

any decent 4 barrell manifold with a decent carb and a good set of headers will suffice....altho if you want to hot it up I can recommend a mopar purple performance cam.

I used an Edelbrock 600 and matching inlet on Angie's Dart. Hers is a 360, but obviously very similar to your 318.
It even started first time! I was amazed to be honest!! But it did say in the leaflet that it should.
If all else fails try ringing Summit Racing, they're very helpful and knowledgable.
