79 continental -> lincoln lights uk upgrade (Feb. 6 2008 20:11:51)

Has anyone got an idea how to alter the lights on the front of a 79 continental.I cant seem to get a headlamp with a sidelamp built in and the lights on the end of the front wings have been used as indicators.Any advise would be great.

if yer got either plastic or metal reflector unit ,thes maybe enough room to fit a small extra light in the one that been converted ,get a pilot light bulb unit with  2 wire tails (like on speedo clock assembly or motorcyle headlight speedo ,speedo clock  unit have a rubber holder) then drill a hole fraction smaller than the rubber lamp holder ,fit in  pilot light an connect one wire to yer feed side an the other to earth

or, if the existing bulb holder is the same same as a rear light/brake light bulb ,try get a pair of stop tail light bulb holders an fit yellow bulbs ,connect the brighter bulb filament to indicator an the other to sidelight

Hi Simon.

Did you try US Automotive mate?  I know they do supply Headght Units that incorporate a Side Light but may be limited to various models.

No harm in tryng & last pair I bought were cheap as Chips.

Good Luck.
