It can be done easily enough, alls that needs to be done is plug a tape device ( somet like a walkman) into the microphone or audio input socket on a computer, then play the tape and record it with windows sound recorder.  There are a lot more programs around that can do it and get some good results.  However the way above usess programs that are packaged with windows so more or less anyone could do it.  The big draw back is the time involved, cause its a tape it can only be done in "real" time" ie if its 3 hours of music then it will take 3 hours to record into the computer.  Plus doing it song by song will take a little longer as each song is saved and then another one started off etc.

Its worthwhile doing if they are rare songs etc, but there are other ways around it if they are more mainstream - but I won't put these onto a forum - drop us an email and I'll explain

Phil.

K dave so I take it you want all of it on there then? , the only way to do it is to stream it as I said above. It will take a fair bit of time tho for an hour long tape  you'd probably be looking at an hour and 20 to record it in check its ok and then burn it out, bit longer if you want it as individual tracks as the tape device would have to be paused, the recording trimed a little to make it start and finish without a cut out and then the cd burn would have to be set up so that there is no break between any of the tracks ( default is normaly 2 seconds between each track) to make it sound like 1 continuous track. Probably 1hr 30 min for every hour of recording to do it this way.
