Mo's 53 Pro stock chevy you've all seem it and it's a tad bit low on the front end.
The truck was built with the 1/4 mile strip in mind, but the front end seems too soft as he has problems with tramling on the m/ways ,small kerbs,& fag packets etc.
The front suspension is Jaguar and last time I jacked it up there was a lot of suspension travel before the wheels lifted offa the ground.
Your advice is needed please , do we  change the front shock absorber's springs,? nothing too expensive ,he was offered some larger diameter  Chevy wheels which would have raised the front end but the pcd is different on jag hubs so was no go.

its not up n down chris its side to side play buddy, you need to shim up the steering box and tram bar trailing arms etc, take all the play out and your sorted, they only follow them tram lines if theres an inch a play in box, shocks and rims wont make a blind bit a difference to the handling and ride but might look better if its not nosediving.

ive had trucks that have followed tram lines in motorway ,
sometimes when ive alterd wheels an tyres some times worse than others,
gmc jimmy (like a chevy blazer)was the worst with 33 12.50 mud tyres fitted to 10 inch rims ,(no problem when it had its original slippers (skinny naf lookin tyres)fitted )
the front axle is about an inch wider than the rear an think the diffrence in tyre outer tread from front to rear tyre used to grab ,an pull the truck up the tram lines slightly outa step so yer felt like yer wer seasawin the steering wheel all the time ,
best easist cure i found...................
make sure tyres arnt too soft
(shocks have never made any improvement)
just drive faster an use middle or fast lane  ,
i dont have a problem now what ever tyres an rims are fittted

Mo ..99% of the time the problem is as Dave said, caused by a difference in tyre size from front to rear..try put a slightly wider tyre on the front..
A lot of the rods I have been involved with over the years have had this problem and it was always down to running "Big N Little" rims and tyres...
The edsel was the same until I changes the tyres for same size all round ...

the must be  difffrent pcd's on jag /chevy wheels now,
years ago ,
wheel stud pattern was same ,an they wer known as jag/chevy stud pattern ,
pretty sure i had a jag spare wheel in boot for a 79 camaro about 20 years ago,
that i once used when a got a puncture
or maybe life was just simpler or awer even less botherd in them days ,an a wernt botherd if the bolt holes or center hole in rim wernt same size or wheel offset was diffrent

Yer right Dave.  I had a XJ 4.2 in the 80's & bought some Chevy Stud Woolfrace wheels & fitted no problem.  Perhaps the pattern has changed over the years.

By the way Mo, have got the original Alloys off my TA & free to your Son if he wants them mate.  I hope to pick up my other Chrome Alloys at the 56 crusie Bud.  I can bring the other Alloys with me if your Son wants them.

Jag and Chevy have always been the same...well nearly there is about 1 mm difference...it was the wheel nut thread that was different....
