Hi Guys.

This is possibly one of the worst situations we have ever experienced in all the years of Organizing National Events BUT what I’m about to announce is a Disaster that is beyond our control but thankfully a very Temporary situation & NOT to be repeated again of that I assure you.

For the first time ever we will NOT have a Bar at this particular event. As I understand through meetings with Venue management a License for all events at the venue had been applied for but the issuing Office cannot find trace of the application & therefore could not issue even a Temp one without at least a Ten Day notice.

At this stage there is nothing we can do other than accept the situation of A Pub with No Beer. However the Event continues as normal in full with live entertainment in the Marquee featuring three Bands & Colin Gold over Saturday & Sunday.
Awards for vehicles & Judging will take place on Sunday.

We suggest that you should bring your own Drink with you or possibly purchase from the on site outlets. None Alcoholic Drinks will be available through our Catering Units as normal.
The Venue will be posting Signage to inform others that we may not reach with this late announcement.

On closing I offer our sincere apologies for a situation that is totally beyond our control & look forward to Drinking Twice as much at ‘The Daddy Of All American Car shows’ namely our Summernationals over the weekend of 13/14/15th of June

Harry ..bit of a bu**er that mate I persume Billing will be offering an apology of some sort or are they willing to let you take the flak ....

omg no bar!!! stop the world i wanna get off......

only kidding mate sure is a F*** up on billings part but its not the end of the world!!!
I'm sure we know at least one friendly van driver who can do a beer run to the local supermarket

the show will go on

Harry should we be contacting other clubs through their forums etc, so that those intending to attend will be able to make their arrangements ?

If needed I can do a beer run for folk Friday and part of Saturday with the dayvan .It's the least we can do for our event.

That's not good news, but in the scheme of things, its not a real big deal to bring our own or we get a big van to go out and get some, The trouble is! we'll have to make sure we drink all the beer we bring as we can't take it back home,what a shame

If you see show vehicles coming in looking like they're doing wheelies, no! its the booze in the trunk,

think some of the Rock And Roll clubs need contacting as this attracts loads of them
It will still be brilliant Bar or no bar

An apology Chris ? Highly unlikely., I think were expected to take the Flack & the Loss of income to finance the Marquee.

Can we not run one as a beer raffle - i.e. you buy a ticket and hey presto, you won a can of beer! Its an old dodge we used to use in school quiz nights and its perfectly legal.

think most people bring plenty of beer with'em to shows if ther campin/caravanin

i allways have more than i can drink ona weekend

,
usually buy loads when its on special offer to last'me most/or all o'show season

always 4 or 5 deep at bar so i can see the loss your talking about H, i bet you make sure its done yerself next time and this new lady manager hopefully get a bol***** matey,
likes been said it always handy to have plenty a refreshments in yer boot anyways for weekend,

Typical with corporate takeovers Harry ..they F**K up and sh*t hits the fan then it sure ain't them that gets covered in it..but I'm sure genuine visitors will ride this problem without giving you too many problems ..

I'm with you mate.

I dont want to get into a discussion of who is to blame other than it was beyond our control but we do need to get the message across to as many people as possible.
It would be such a waste for great Bands that we have Booked to be performing in an empty Marquee.
Let's just do our best the make the most of the weekend.
