I had the same problem myself years ago Andy & it was such a *******d to sort although I used to carry out all my own maintenance I gave up on the Pump & put it into a Garage. Doesn't solve your problem but in some cases it's the bettter course of action mate.

I think Harry is right there. You could try a bodge with some leakfix tape around the pipe but it won't hold indefinitely. Think you're going to have to bite the bullet on this one. Just be absolutely sure that's where the leak is coming from as water has a nasty habit of travelling from one place to another and dripping - giving the impression that the leak is in one place when its not.

Thanks guys, No easy fix by the looks of things. I had thought of trying a garage as I think the job is too big for me, perhaps you have convinced me this is the best way to go. As ever, I'm grateful for the advice. Andy
