im in the middle of pulling the engine out of my 3rd gen camaro, engines seised solid, so need a few tips along the way.

as i cant disconnect the torque convertor from the fly wheel coz the engine does not turn, if i seperate engine and box, which ive done, will the torque convertor pull out of the gearbox, i take it, it does.

might need some more tips when i pull engine apart this week

Torque converter just slides of the input shaft on the transmission. but i dont think you'll be able to do it because the input shaft is fairly long so the engine would have to be able to slide forward a fair bit to gain clearance

I pulled the gearbox out with my engine the second time and it was loads easier, I would suggest you go down the same route

here's a pic for inspiration

Lookin' good mate, looking at the second photo reminded me of yesterdays dentist appointment - the big hole left!! At least it was easier to get out than my chuffin tooth!!
Hope you get her up'n'running soon

Go to Halfords!!! I kid you not, the alternator is common to a lot of GM cars and are quite easily available refurbished!
