Northampton Branch of the AACI - Christmas Dinner and Awards Night 2004
Harry Tune - Prez - Personal Intro

The Northants branch along with another couple or so areas of the former AAC UK had been keenly supported by a limited number of enthusiastic USA vehicle owners from the surrounding area but are presently exceeding all my expectations through continued growth of support in Northants & many other local branches but let there be no doubt that Toby (Northants Rep) & all of the other AACI Reps who have put so much effort into the rebirth of their branches, literally starting from scratch & bringing a whole new structure of enthusiasm to their specific Area.

When our present association (the AACI) was launched the Northampton branch elected to continue to support the district under the auspice of our new club as did many other Area's that now like Northampton are growing day by day & the Northampton crew are now but one of 30 plus branches that are now thriving through the dedication of their Area Rep's & enthusiastic members. The fact that the AACI total membership is now nudging 800 members in just over Twelve Months is testament to the resolve of the Reps & members to encompass all into our family. Both Pam & myself offer our sincere gratitude for your dedication to the AACI & your members.

Toby Bovingdon - AACI Area Representative for Northampton
The Northampton Area has been established for many years, firstly under the leadership of Derrick Limbert and presently myself having taken on the role when Derrick retired from the post that he served on behalf of the former AAC UK. The Area Reps task is not an easy one & most effort is involved with organizing a suitable venue that is accessible to members & working towards the introduction of new people to attend our meets who hopefully join the club as many have over the past months, the branch meeting regularly attracts 40 plus owners & their vehicles ranging from the 1940's to 2000 models as well as support from other associations such as: NASC represented by Mark Ashman (Chairman) officials of The Pontiac Owners Club & Mustang Owners Club of GB

Various branches of the AACI hold monthly or even fortnightly Area meetings & most provide additional functions such as: Go Cart Racing, Ten Pin Bowling & many other individual excuses to get together & enjoy the company & vehicles of the general membership not least Area Branch 'Christmas' functions that leads me onto the main subject of this AACI Area Profile.

This past December 10th 2004, the Northants branch held our sixth annual Christmas Dinner and awards night at the White Hart Pub in Great Houghton, just outside Northampton. Following a traditional three course festive dinner, I presented various awards, some more serious than others. A complete list follows. Thanks to all who attended the evening celebration and special thanks to Julian Edwards at MCE Insurance for kindly sponsoring the trophies for Member and Car of the Year.

My congratulations to all who received an award & my sincere thanks to all who continue to support our meets.

Wishing all AACI members a 'Happy Christmas' & a very 'Prosperous' New Year

Toby
