Presidents Intro Nothing pleases me more than being privileged to be the first person to read profiles submitted by Forum Members but the pleasure is just that little bit more special when the Profile in question is submitted by one of our USA Brothers.
My sincere thanks to both DWP & Carl for taking the time to contribute to our site & sharing their many hours with us. I guess we should refer to these Guys as ‘AACI Night Shift’.

Personal Introduction
Greetings Harry
My family is originally from Western New York state near the Buffalo/Rochester area and most worked at General Motors, Harrisons Radiator Division. My Dad is a mechanic, as was his father, so I have been turning wrenches as long as I can remember. We ended up in the southern states due to my father being a career Marine (he worked in the airwing and motor transport areas). He retired from the USMC here at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, SC and decided to stay as they liked the area. It was sort of funny because he said he started and ended his career in the Marine Corps in the same place. Beaufort is also home to USMC Recruit Depot, Parris Island.
I married my High School Sweetheart (a native Beaufortonian) nearly 20 years ago and we have 6 children (4 girls, 2 boys). Hence my screen name. Everyone usually assumes the sixpack part is for beer but I don't touch the stuff. I'm a whiskey man. Never did like the taste of beer.LOL My screen name comes from the Kenny Rogers film SixPack where he was a stock car racer and had a group of 6 kids as his pit crew.
I have always liked Buick's styling and when I found my '51 Buick it was truly love at first sight.
My wife has wanted an early Mustang for as long as I've known her. She really wants a convertible but they are expensive even over here. As I said in my post, my oldest daughter has always liked the VW Beatles so that is where the '60 Karmann Kabriolet comes in. I probably would have never found my Olds had my truck not been totalled.
Vehicle Profiles
First we have my pride and joy. She's a 1951 Buick Special Deluxe Tour back Sedan. 263ci Straight 8 motor rated at 120bhp, 3 speed Synchromesh tranny column shift (three on the tree). She has 91,437 original miles on her and is in original, unrestored condition. I bought her a year ago this month and have had to do some cleaning and tuning and replacing some missing pieces but nothing major as yet and she runs and drives like a Buick should.
Second is my oldest daughters 1960 Karmann Kabriolet. She has liked the "Bugs" since she was little and I got this one to restore for her. Pretty much a basket case when I got it. Chassis is pretty well sorted now with all new brake system installed, new floor pans, cables, and bushings, Rebuilt transaxle and 36 bhp motor. Working on the body now and it has been a chore. Feller I got it from was patching spots by welding metal over the rust rather than cutting the bad spot out and patching properly. Will get it sorted though and hope to have it ready for paint before Winter sets in.
Third is the wife's 1965 Mustang Hardtop. 200ci l6 with C4 auto gearbox. Bought it for her this past Christmas. Needs a little work here and there but a mostly solid driver with around 90,000 original miles on the clock.
Forth is my daily driver. 1981 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale (Olds not Chevy) 307ci V8 with 4 speed overdrive auto tranny and 36,634 original miles. Just bought this one in June in Pennsylvania to replace my 1995 F-150 Supercab daily driver that got totalled when it fell off my mates lift while servicing the front end ball joints and bushings. The lift broke and the right side fell rolling my truck on its side. Anyway, the Olds is the proverbial little old lady car. She was 90+ and never drove the car in the winter so no rust from road salt. Drove her almost 800 miles home without a problem. Probably was the best thing for the car to open it up on the interstate. Was a little sluggish when I started home but after about 200 miles she was purrin like a kitten.
Lastly (not pictured cause I don't have a pic of it) is the wife's daily driver. It's a 1996 Ford Ranger Splash pickup. 2.3l l4 with 5 speed OD manual gearbox. She calls it her grocery getter. All Black, no Splash decals, grey interior, and Factory sun roof.
In case you didn't notice I'm a GM man and the wife likes Fords so Sundays around here are a riot when the NASCAR race is on. LOL Cheers, Carl
Carl
