 Like Taxi's Sarah had been looking for a Dodge Charger for months without any great success (OK no success) and then suddenly we ended up buying two of them! This one has been restored back to stock and is almost immaculate. Tucked behind it is my little old red corvette looking very small!
We collected this car from Thamesport with Steve Shane's Camaro. That in itself was interesting as the shipping company warned us that the brakes were a little soft. When Sarah tried them she discovered they meant non-existent. Luckily Dave (of Pink Van fame) quickly spotted that the vacuum assist had not been connected and once that was replaced we had some very sharp brakes indeed.
This car was a dream to drive home, perfectly well behaved with lovely tight steering and handling. The interior was a recent addition from YearOne and the seats were like arm chairs - I don't think I have ever sat in any so comfortable in my life before.
The original 318 engine has been replaced with a later model 400. As we did not have the handbook we inadvertently managed to open the air vents but had no idea how to we had done so nor how to close them so froze the whole way home. A simple pushing of a lever actually closed them once we had got home!
This car was somewhat easier to drive than the black one as it had mirrors both sides and so we could see who was approaching in the outside lane. The restoration was pretty much bare metal and has been very faithful to the original.
 The change from bare metal to the beauty she is now is amazing. Paint work is fantastic and is contrasted by the white vinyl roof and interior. Fortunately she has even managed to keep her original hub caps and number plate - I have tried to register that but DVLA are having none of it and will be issuing an age related plate at a future date.
