1993 Chevrolet G20 Dayvan

1993 Chevrolet G20 Dayvan Hi!, my name is Steve Mills, I'm 47 yrs of age & live in Luton with my wife Christine & Son Adam who is 12 years old.

I first became interested in American Cars in June of 2001 whilst reading a through copy of Classic American Magazine looking specifically for a 3rd Gen Camaro, it was by pure coincidence that a friend who was also in my Taxi Comp Office asked if there was any particular car I was looking for, I explained about the appeal of the 3rd Gen & how I hoped one day to be able to buy one, this moment must have been in my destiny because at that very moment in time his father had one for sale & had not been able to drive it for quite a while due to illness, I expressed an interest & asked if he would let me know how much the car was up for sale for, he promised to contact his father & get back to me.

An arrangement was set up for me to view the Car & when I eventually arrived at his house there she was (the Camaro) a 1982 Z28, 305 Injection with just 85,000 miles logged on the Speedo, I immediately fell in love with her.

The Chevy had been standing on the 'driveway' for the past 10 months, the Lacquer was beginning to off the Trunk & Roof no doubt due to none use and exposure to the elements without any protection of Polish or Cover.

I removed the Battery that was obviously badly in need of charging we took it to my Friends house & hooked it up to a charging unit, once satisfied there was life in the Batt once again I connected it up to the Chevy and she fired up at first 'turn of the Key'

1982 Camaro Z28A price of just £500.00 was put to me & needless to say I did not need time to think it over, five minutes later I became the official owner of the Camaro & drove her home for the very first time with my heart beating 'big time' with excitement, my yearning to own a Camaro was at last fulfilled.

Once parked up at her new home I set about a complete Valet of Exterior & Interior this was then followed by replacement of: Callipers on the front Brakes, new rear Springs & Shocks as well as a badly needed new Battery, I also replaced the Drivers Door, Locks and Headlamps.

She has now completed 150,000 trouble free miles & is still going as strong as ever, consumption of Gas is around 28mpg running on a Holly Carb.

Sadly she is now up for sale because I bought a Chevy G20 Van during November of 2003. My Son & I enjoy going to the shows even more so with the addition comfort & space that a conversion Van offers.

Should you see our Van (reg No. L327 SGU) parked up at the Nationals please come over & say 'Hello'. If you are a member or even a none member of the club but would like to support my Luton Area meets then please check out my contact details within the Area Rep page.
