LINDA GAIL LEWIS is one of the great undiscovered artists of our time.
The sister of Jerry Lee Lewis, she has been performing since she was small, has played on many albums and released solo CDs in her own right, and has even found the time to be married eight times!
Toured throughout Europe with Van Morrison, with whom she released the best-selling duets album "You Win Again" , Linda is no slouch when it comes to both live and studio work. An energetic performer, she still found time to write and record a bunch of new songs. The result - a new album on the Lantasi label , aptly titled "Out Of The Shadows".
"Out Of The Shadows" features 18 tracks in all including a bonus video version of "I'd Rather Stay Home and Rock 'n Roll", previously only seen on TV.
Recorded in Austin and Nashville, "Out Of The Shadows" moves effortlessly from country to good old fashioned rock 'n' roll with the occasional hint of Southern blues and soul thrown in. Linda Gail's distinctive vocals and piano style blends with guitars, horns, sax and harmony back up vocals supplied, on several tracks, by the legendary Jordanaires.
Headed up by such Lewis originals - Linda has written nine of the CD tracks - as "What A Beautiful Day", "Everything I Need" and "The Sweetest Love", the collection is complimented by standards like Dan Penn's "Dark End Of the Street" and Smokey Robinson's "Relentless". Hank Wangford's "Never Wear Mascara (When You Love A Married Man)" is a standout track all by itself!
"Out Of The Shadows" follows hot on the heels of Linda Gail's no holds barred biography "The Devil, Me And Jerry Lee".
Already well respected by the rockabilly and country music fraternities, Linda Gail Lewis is all set to live up to her new CD - she'll definitely be "Out Of The Shadows" now!
